Dr Tim Eviston specialises in Head and Neck Cancer surgery and reconstruction with an emphasis on patient-centred care.

Consultations are available in Brisbane and Ipswich.

  • particularly Head and Neck skin cancers (including melanoma and advanced tumours)

  • disorders (eg masses or problems) involving the parotid, submandibular gland, or sublingual gland

  • tumours or lesions of the tongue, gums or floor of mouth

  • nodules or tumours of the thyroid or parathyroid gland

  • including soft tissue, mandible or maxilla reconstruction following cancer surgery

  • such as lymph nodes or cysts

  • Facial reanimation (static and dynamic) following cancer surgery

  • Hernias, gallstones, skin lesions

After growing up in Boonah QLD, Tim completed medical school at UNSW where he graduated with the Ian Webster Medal and first-class honours.

Tim is a General Surgeon with many years of advanced cancer surgery and microvascular reconstruction experience. He was trained by world leaders in Surgical Oncology, Endocrine Surgery, Head and Neck Cancer Surgery and Reconstruction in Sydney and in Toronto, Canada. His training included a PhD in facial nerve injury. This body of research has resulted in 4 patents and multiple high impact scientific publications.

Tim has performed over 250 major head and neck microvascular reconstructive cases.

  • Chris O'Brien Lifehouse (Sydney) - Royal Prince Alfred Cancer hospital specializing in Head & Neck Cancer.

  • Toronto General Hospital (Canada) - Ranked in the top 4 cancer hospitals in the world

  • Sunnybrook Hospital (Toronto, Canada) - The largest hospital in Canada.

Since completing his training Dr Eviston has been working as consultant surgeon in New South Wales where he predominantly deals with advanced cancer surgery and reconstruction.

Dr Eviston is passionate about optimising functional outcomes after surgery and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the next generation of surgeons.

Aside from his clinical work, Tim is interested in the translation and commercialisation of clinician led research. He has published widely in high impact academic journals, and has been an invited speaker at a number of international meetings, forums and panels. He enjoys delivering care to patients in the country and regularly does locum General Surgery in rural centers to maintain his broad skillset.
